Job Overview

• Compensation: Up to $90,683 per year
• Location: Trenton, NJ, United States

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ respiratory conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Operate and maintain respiratory equipment such as ventilators and therapeutic gas administration apparatus.
• Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy, including vital signs and blood gases, and adjust treatments as necessary.
• Provide emergency respiratory care, such as artificial respiration or assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions and effective management strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records, documenting treatments and progress.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in New Jersey.
• Proven experience in respiratory care, emergency care, or intensive care settings.
• Strong knowledge of pulmonary function and rehabilitation techniques.
• Proficiency in operating respiratory equipment and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.

Preferred Skills

• Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is preferred.
• Experience in neonatal or pediatric respiratory care is advantageous.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are a plus.
