Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Observe and document patients’ behavior, mood, and overall condition.
• Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Participate in therapeutic and recreational activities with patients.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment within the facility.
• Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in mental health technology or related field preferred.
• Certification as a Psychiatric Technician is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of mental health disorders and therapeutic techniques.
• Excellent observational and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations.
• Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and daily activities.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
